Inside casino heiress Laurinda Ho’s mega luxury lifestyle: late Hong Kong billionaire Stanley Ho’s daughter married Shawn Dou, is pals with G.E.M. and posed with Michelle Yeoh at a Cartier bash
Laurinda Ho has hit the love jackpot!
In case you haven’t heard, the daughter of late casino tycoon Stanley Ho tied the knot last month with Chinese-Canadian actor Shawn Dou in one of the season’s most lavish ceremonies.
Hong Kong’s crème de la crème of high society gathered to witness the grand celebrations that united the two lovebirds at Bali’s Six Senses Uluwatu resort on April 18.
The happy couple, who had been dating for four years, honoured their special day with a star-studded guest list and spared no expense for the occasion.
As one of 17 children from the late gambling billionaire, Laurinda is no stranger to opulence and is known for her lavish taste and jet-setting lifestyle.
From her glamorous fashion choices to her love for travel, here’s a glimpse into the world of Laurinda Ho and her over-the-top wedding of the year …
Laurinda Ho and Shawn Dou’s lavish wedding
According to Malaysia’s Hype, the power couple shelled out a whopping US$6.4 million (HK$50 million) for their big day.
To ensure optimum privacy and safety, the couple hired 120 security guards for the two-day event, adds 8Days.
The sheer scale and grandeur of Ho, 31, and Dou’s, 34, wedding was nothing short of spectacular, but they didn’t spend it all on themselves. The lucky wedding guests were reportedly gifted full-sized bottles of luxury skincare brand Helena Rubinstein’s day and night cream, which retails for about US$600 each, along with chocolates from Belgian chocolatier Pierre Marcolini, and a cologne from French perfume brand Atelier Cologne, reported the same publication.
The couple also shared photos from their traditional Chinese ceremony, featuring the bride in a stunning scarlet qipao and the groom in a matching ensemble. Ho was also spotted wearing three beautiful golden bangles and a pendant as they went through the ceremony.
Her famous friends
As a permanent fixture in Hong Kong’s upper echelon, Ho has definitely crossed paths with many famous personalities, such as her good friend and singer G.E.M. Although G.E.M. was noticeably absent for Ho’s wedding, she later uploaded a heartfelt message for her bestie on Instagram.
“I met you at the age of 18 and watched you grow from a baby face to a beautiful woman. I watched you grow from a girl who was trapped in love and stayed up all night to a mature woman who is now going to marry and become a wife,” she wrote in her post.
She loves designer fashion and travelling
As a social media sensation and fashionista, Ho is known for her love for luxury goods, which is evident from her Instagram posts. She wears a plethora of high-end brands, including Fendi, Alexander McQueen and Moschino, to name a few.
The University of London graduate is also an avid traveller. From Macau with her pal Fiona Sit to snowboarding with her now-husband Dou in the snow-capped mountains, as seen on her Instagram page, Ho is quite the jet-setter.
Her family’s net worth
While Laurinda’s actual net worth is unknown, it’s safe to assume that the youngest daughter of the late casino king Stanley Ho and his third wife Ina Chan would have access to a significant fortune.
Forbes reported her mum has an estimated net worth of US$1 billion in 2021. She holds stakes in casino operators SJM and STDM as well as a stake in the casino and hospitality company Macau Legend where her daughter Laurinda is a director.
Her business and philanthropy
While Ho is undoubtedly very wealthy and enjoys a thriving social media presence, she doesn’t rely solely on her family’s fortune and reputation.
As a self-proclaimed foodie, Ho launched her Taiwanese franchise Jiu-Wu Beef Noodles. However, as the restaurant’s official page has not been active since 2021 and with its Wan Chai branch being closed down, it’s unclear whether the franchise is still in operation.
In 2017, Ho also launched Smile With Us, a charity that aims to promote positivity and caringness in the community. However, the charity seems to be inactive as of today, as its social media has been inactive since 2022. This could be due to Ho’s move to Shanghai.
As previously reported, last year she decided to stay in Shanghai to support her partner Dou during his film shoots and spend more time with him. According to Jayne Stars, in 2021, she also made guest appearances in the Chinese reality show Stars Chaser along with Dou.
